My love of editorial design can be traced back to this project. The overall goal was to reimagine a well known magazine, considering the largest gestures to the smallest by integrating text and image to a gridded layout. Other objectives included adopting efficient production tactics and creating an economical InDesign file to streamline our workflows.
I chose to redesign the October 2020 issue of Town & Country Magazine. With a focus on high society news and luxury goods ads, my aim was to modernize the publication by giving it a more minimalistic feel. Without having to worry about the publication’s budgetary constraints, I drew inspiration from the shift in architectural design. Trading in the air of opulence that traditionally characterizes wealth, I embraced contemporary design principles with my use of white space and clean lines throughout each spread.
